2018 US Open Wild Card Challenge winner Asia Muhammad defeats 2017 Las Vegas Champion Sesil Karatantcheva to win her seventh ITF singles title and third in 2018 at the Central Coast Pro Tennis Open at the Templeton Tennis Ranch.  It was a riveting three set showdown against the Bulgarian that lasted over two hours with a final score of 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.  Thirty minutes after her singles final, the 27-year old went on to win the doubles title with longtime partner Maria Sanchez in yet another exciting finals defeating the former college players Quinn Gleason (Notre Dame) and Luisa Stefani (Pepperdine) 6-7(4), 6-2, 10-8.


Asia is a Las Vegas native and is expected to play in front of her home crowd this year during the Red Rock Pro Open held November 4-11th at Red Rock Country Club!  It’s been three years since her last appearance in Las Vegas back in 2014 when she fell just short of another title losing in the finals with partner Maria Sanchez.  Prior to that, Muhammed competed every year since the tournaments inception in Las Vegas back in 2009.  She had her best year ever last year reaching a career high singles ranking of #124 and career high doubles ranking of #44.  She has won three doubles titles on the WTA tour as well as five singles and 26 doubles titles on the ITF circuit.
